How employment services helped a tailor apprentice in pursuit of an education
18-year-old Sua Lao registered as a jobseeker at Luang Prabang job centre in Lao PDR. But the job centre staff thought at such a young age, she should not give up her studies so they enrolled her in a tailoring course while encouraging her to continue studying. Recently, she has passed the exam to enter college. She will make clothes during her spare time to support her studies.
Thanks to the ILO/China South South cooperation project, public employment services in Cambodia and Lao PDR have been significantly improved to benefit more and more people.
