Interview with Honorable Member Eva Nassif
Meet Eva Nassif: a native of Lebanon, mother of triplets, certified translator and terminologist, and eager politician. Eva has lived in Laval with her husband and children for over 20 years. She immigrated to Canada in 1993 where she quickly became a progressive community leader and prominent activist for women`s rights and social and youth affairs.
Eva was a nursing sciences graduate in Lebanon where she practiced for eight years, the last 5 years spent at the American University Hospital (AUH) in Beirut. After immigrating to Canada, she obtained a B.A. in Translation and then an M.A. in Translation Studies from Concordia University and, shortly after, became certified to translate. The subject of her master’s thesis, “The Terminology of Proteomics” was unique in the world. Eva is fluent in three languages: Canada’s two official languages English and French, as well as Arabic – her mother tongue.
